Product Description

In your second trimester (weeks 14–27), your baby's brain continues rapid development, bones begin to harden, and your body's demand for key minerals rises to keep pace. Formulated by a team of leading OB/GYNs, our 2nd Trimester Prenatal Pack adds calcium and magnesium to support skeletal development and your evolving nutritional needs.*

For Baby: Omega DHA and choline support rapid brain development, while calcium and magnesium support bone development and growth.* Iron supports oxygen delivery to baby, and iodine supports healthy thyroid development.*

For Mom: Iron supports expanding blood volume, while magnesium supports muscle relaxation and nerve function as leg cramps become more common during pregnancy.*

Each Pack Includes:

  • 2x Core Prenatal Vitamins
  • 2x Calcium + Magnesium
  • 1x Omega DHA + EPA

Recommended For: Women during their second trimester (Weeks 14-27)

Benefits

Supports Baby's Bone Development

Calcium and magnesium are added specifically for this trimester to support growing bones. On average, U.S. pregnant women get 500-750mg of calcium daily from food alone – below the recommended 1,000mg a day. As baby's skeleton continues building and hardening in the second trimester, that existing gap matters more. *

Supports Baby's Brain Development in the Final Stretch

95% of pregnant women don't consume enough Omega EPA and DHA daily from food alone. DHA supports continued brain growth during this peak window as baby's brain development accelerates.*

Supports Healthy Iron Levels for You and Baby

Iron deficiency affects more than 50% of pregnant women. This pack includes Ferrochel® iron, clinically studied for better absorption and gentler digestion than standard iron supplements.*

Supports Muscle Comfort for Mom

1 in 4 pregnant women experience leg cramps in the second trimester. Magnesium helps support healthy muscle and nerve function, which is important for mom’s muscle relaxation during pregnancy.

Directions

Take one pack daily with food and a full glass of water. We recommend taking with your largest meal for optimal tolerability.

As with any supplement, consult your doctor before use if you are pregnant, nursing, have a medical condition or are taking any medications.

24 Key Ingredients

2nd Trimester Prenatal Pack

Methylfolate (5-MTHF)700 mcg DFE as Methylfolate (5-MTHF)

700mcg DFE methylfolate (5-MTHF) per serving, the bioavailable form your body absorbs directly. More than one-third of pregnant women don't get enough folate from food alone, making dose and form critical in the second trimester to support metabolism and cell division in mom and baby.

Iron16 mg of Iron as Ferrochel® (Ferrous Bisglycinate Chelate)

16mg iron per serving as Ferrochel® (ferrous bisglycinate chelate), a chelated iron bound to glycine, clinically studied for superior absorption and gentler on digestion than standard iron forms. Ferrochel®iron supports red blood cell formation and oxygen delivery to the placenta as blood volume expands during pregnancy.* A 2026 analysis of NHANES data found iron deficiency affects more than 50% of pregnant women.

Iodine150 mcg of Iodine (as Potassium Iodide)

150mcg iodine per serving as potassium iodide, at the amount recommended by the American Thyroid Association, the Endocrine Society, and the American Academy of Pediatrics for all pregnant women daily. Iodine requirements increase by more than 50% during pregnancy to support baby's thyroid development and neurocognitive development, yet 23% of pregnant women fall short on iodine daily.

Choline120 mg of Choline as Choline Bitartrate (VitaCholine®)

120mg choline per serving as VitaCholine®, the first choline source clinically studied to be bioavailable during pregnancy, supporting both mom and baby. In the second trimester, choline continues to support baby’s rapid brain growth and mom’s needs as well. 90-95% of pregnant women don't consume enough choline daily, and most prenatals don't contain it.

Vitamin D2,000 IU (50mcg) of Vitamin D (as cholecalciferol)

2,000 IU (50mcg) Vitamin D (cholecalciferol) per serving, at the dose recommended by the Endocrine Society for pregnant women and supported by a 2018 systematic review of 24 randomized clinical trials including 5,405 pregnant women. Vitamin D supports calcium absorption, and as baby's skeletal development accelerates in the second trimester and calcium demands increase, adequate Vitamin D is essential to ensure that calcium is absorbed and put to use. Up to 50% of pregnant women have insufficient Vitamin D levels, even in sunny climates.

Calcium200 mg of Calcium as Dicalcium Malate (DimaCal®)

200mg calcium per serving as Dicalcium Malate (DimaCal®), selected for absorption and tolerability. Baby’s bone development accelerates in the second trimester, increasing the demand for calcium as baby's skeleton begins to harden. U.S. pregnant women average 500-750mg of calcium daily from food alone, below the 1,000mg daily recommended amount for pregnancy.

Magnesium230 mg of Magnesium as Magnesium Bisglycinate Chelate and Magnesium Amino Acid Chelate

230mg magnesium bisglycinate chelate and magnesium amino acid chelate–30mg from our core prenatal plus 200mg added specifically for the second trimester, in forms selected for absorption and gentle digestion. Magnesium supports healthy muscle and nerve function, important when leg cramps become more common in pregnancy, affecting nearly 1 in 4 women by the second trimester. U.S. pregnant women average only 294mg of magnesium daily, below the 350–360mg daily recommended amount for pregnancy.

Omega-3 (DHA and EPA)250mg DHA + 100mg EPA

250mg DHA + 100mg EPA per serving in triglyceride form, the higher-bioavailability format shown in research to absorb more effectively than the ethyl ester form found in most supplements, at a dose that meets and exceeds ACOG’s recommendations for omega-3 intake during pregnancy. In the second trimester, baby's brain is growing rapidly and DHA is essential for supporting brain development and healthy vision, while also supporting mom's own cognitive health. 95% of pregnant women consume less than 200mg EPA and DHA daily from food alone.

Do these prenatal vitamins contain folic acid?

We use Methylfolate, the active form of folic acid, which is clinically proven to increase serum folate levels.

Since folate is crucial for early pregnancy, it was important to our medical panel to include the most bioavailable form of folate possible—in the form of Methylfolate in our prenatal vitamin formulas. "Folic acid is less expensive, [which] leads to the terms folate and folic acid being interchangeable," says Dr. Amber Samuel, a maternal-fetal medicine doctor and Perelel Panel member. "We know that while everyone has to convert folic acid for it to be useful, [it's] an added step, decreasing bioavailability. And some women cannot due to MTHFR mutations."

      Are Perelel products third-party tested?

Yes, we complete third-party testing on all of our products to confirm purity and potency. All of our vitamins are made in FDA Registered and Inspected Facilities, which meet FDA 21 CFR 111 guidelines and are also cGMP Certified. All raw materials for our vitamins are tested directly prior to production to ensure their purity and quality. COAs are performed on every batch of manufactured vitamins to ensure final product integrity and quality, which includes testing for heavy metals, microbes, allergens and contaminates. We then complete third-party testing for heavy metals, microbes and potency to confirm our products are safe under USP standards.  In addition, our pre and postnatal formulas have earned us certification from the Clean Label Project, a leading nonprofit that sets one of the industry's highest standards for consumer transparency. We’re proud to have earned Clean Label Project’s highest honor, the Purity Award!
